Founded by Steve Kopelman, a mastermind behind some of the world’s most renowned haunted houses, Seismique offers a unique, immersive space in the heart of Houston. Opened in 2021 in a former Bed, Bath & Beyond, Seismique showcases works from 55 artists, many local, and features cutting-edge, experimental art that pushes the boundaries of creativity. “Steve Kopelman is a fantastic collaborator,” said artist Raven. “Not only did he take a chance on my experimental art, but he also trusted my vision—installation artists don’t always get that freedom of expression."

Seismique is a place where art and play converge. Families can explore Venus Playground, a crocheted soft play area by Japanese artist Toshiko Horiuchi MacAdam, or step into The Hub, a neon-lit world of murals created by Houston artists Kai Ussin and Shokka. “For my mural in The Hub,” Shokka shared, “I wanted to create a fun, colorful, cartoony world that people could get lost in. The project boosted my confidence as an artist and gave me financial security during the pandemic.”

Proudly committed to sustainability, Seismique has been awarded Green Business Certification by the City of Houston. The museum incorporates eco-conscious practices, including the reuse and upcycling of materials. A standout example is Sparker Studio’s “Flare”—a motion-themed installation that creatively integrates construction remnants into its design. Seismique has earned accolades, including being named one of USA Today’s Top 10 Immersive Art Experiences. It’s a place where art, community, and innovation come together to inspire and captivate.
